Bel Ari, a revamp of Leather District Italian restaurant Sorriso. Earlier in 2016, Sorriso and sister restaurant Les Zygomates were bought by Anthony Botta and Mark Tosi. Botta is a veteran of the restaurant industry out in Las Vegas, while Tosi, Botta’s brother-in-law, is president of Pastene, an Italian food importer based in Canton, Massachusetts. At the time, the duo promised that they “hoped to preserve what the regulars like most about the two restaurants,” but they did say that they’d renovate Sorriso and change the name.
Lively trattoria specializing in brick-oven pizza & rustic Italian classics in a cozy, modern space.
According to a press release, the new restaurant aims to “exemplify the modern renaissance feel of the ‘LD’ and its emerging urban-chic persona.” To that end, “figurative” art pieces were commissioned from area resident Janice Eve Dale. Botta and Tosi collaborated with the Food Network’s Taniya Nayak as well as Red Door Hospitality restaurant developer Travis Talbot on the new design and concept.
